Developing Project Leadership Competency

As projects increase in complexity and in their impact on the organization, the project

leadership role becomes more critical for success.  Many project managers are given super-projects without the benefit of super-leadership capabilities, setting up failure for the manager, the team and the organization.

This presentation will outline what organizations can do to build the needed skills for super-project management.  Participants will define super-projects, differentiate between project management and project leadership, review and assess the competencies required to manage projects, and learn how to set up a project leadership developmental plan.

Presenter:      Doug Gaspardo, PMP

Doug has more than 20 years’ experience in developing and coaching project managers in Fortune 500 companies.  For 17 years he served as a senior consultant for Kepner-Tregoe, Inc., a global training and consulting company, and worked with various industry clients, including information technology, telecommunications, food and beverage, pulp and paper, petroleum, and aerospace.  Doug has earned the project management professional (PMP) certification awarded by the Project Management Institute.
